VisionFund Tanzania Microfinance Bank Limited (VFT) is a dynamic and mission-driven financial institution licensed by the Bank of Tanzania. As a subsidiary of VisionFund International, a global network affiliated with World Vision, VFT is deeply committed to advancing financial inclusion and transforming lives through the provision of innovative and accessible financial services. Since its inception, VFT has played a pivotal role in reducing poverty and empowering communities by providing financial solutions tailored to the unique needs of underserved populations, particularly women and rural entrepreneurs.

With a presence in all major regions of Tanzania, VFT operates 46 branches supported by a professional workforce of more than 500 staff members. Our team is equipped with the skillsets, experience, and dedication necessary to deliver high-impact services while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and client-centered service.

Our History

We are VisionFund Tanzania

VisionFund Tanzania traces its roots back to 1996, when it was founded by World Vision as a microfinance institution (MFI). Originally operating under the name SEDA, it later transitioned into a licensed microfinance bank. In 2014, it received its banking license from the Bank of Tanzania (BoT). With Objective of impacting children and rural based community through provision of financial services, products and trainings. Through its effective and consistence governance structure which base on Christianity value, VisionFund Tanzania’s achievements is attributed by strong commitment from its staff, Board and Management who are Christ centered and passionate to children working tireless along with World Vision Tanzania to Improve the lives of children.
